Krizbii…Welcome once again to the palace of krizdom, it’s an early RRC this week as I have the week off work and I’ve been on my lonesome for the past few weeks, if anyone else sends me anything in I’ll add it later.

JeriShow/DX
Jericho starting the show wasn’t anything amazing, but it got to the point of announcing the Raw vs Smackdown match, setting up one of the main themes of the show and introducing Nancy O’Dell. Triple H getting the timekeeper to do Shawn’s run around the ring was fun and with the voicemail message and phone call, it was all pretty good. After JeriShow came out, they had a good exchange over who was best without actually turning on each other.

Jeri vs Show
Heel vs heel when they don’t really want to fight each other isn’t a good way to get crowd reactions, so this could have been a lot deader than it was. The countout win was predictable as anything else would probably mean the end of the team, when JeriShow do split, they’ll do this match properly.

Maria Menounos was a breath of fresh air from the normal ‘ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time’ tedium that we get from Josh every week.

Diva’s Title
Last week I said that Mickie should have pinned Michelle instead of Alicia to set up a match for Bragging Rights, Cole obviously agreed as he changed history to claim that she did pin Michelle. Jillian never wins and has never been close to the title, so throwing the belt on her was totally random, if they wanted to get the belt off Mickie so badly they could have put it on Alicia, and made Melina chase the belt. For anyone counting, the number of moves Melina hit correctly before her first botched move was 0 (even though it was Jillian’s fault), the improvised finish popped the crowd more than the other one would have though.

Backstage Stuff
Hornswoggle looked more like Michael Hayes than HBK.

Nancy and Maria are better actresses than most of the divas, so their confrontation with Beth was quite good, although Santino ruled the segment with continuity and comedy.

Rhodes vs DiBiase vs Cena
Cole continually questioning if Legacy were over the beating they took in Hell in a Cell was ironic considering they were in the ring with Cena, who no-sold the effects of his Hell in a Cell match a day later. The match was OK, with the obvious Orton run-in and Legacy dissention. I love how Nancy is a face, but effectively put Cena in two handicap matches.

Swagger vs MVP
These two still have no chemistry, so keeping it short was fine with me, MVP deserves a spot on the PPV much more than Swagger, but they weren’t going to end Swagger’s undefeated run so quickly.

Kingston vs Bourne
Don’t squash Evan in 2 minutes and he’ll give you a good match. Kofi hasn’t been used to his full potential lately either, even though he had the US title for ages. I hope they actually let him in a big match for a change, and don’t have someone steal his spot like they did in the Elimination Chamber.

Someone should organise a diva trade to Access Hollywood so they can keep Maria. The comedy this week actually worked, even though it is a bit odd to have Triple H in segments with Hornswoggle and Chavo.

Maria/Gail/Kelly vs Alicia/Beth/Rosa
Serial Buddies looks terrible, even worse than Rosa wrestling. Kelly hasn’t won a match on Raw in forever, so it was nice for her to get a win. They kept it short and simple, so this was OK, even if three women’s matches on one show was two too many.

Miz Promo
Since they never had a break-up feud after being drafted to different brands, Miz vs Morrison is something that needed to happen sooner or later, and with both holding the midcard titles this is a perfect opportunity. The promo was typical Miz, but got the job done.

Rhodes/DiBiase vs Cena/Orton
With three of the four having wrestled less than an hour earlier there wasn’t exactly a hot crowd. After what happened when Dusty was GM and Cody was supposed to face Randy, you’d expect something similar here instead of Legacy actually fighting each other, but for some reason they had a match instead of beating up Cena, although quite why Orton needed to tag himself in to attack his partner at the end I’m not sure. DiBiase deliberately going against Orton to get the sneaky win was weird, losing to Cody, but pinning Randy in the same night is also a strange way to book him.

Cena vs Triple H next week could be good, although I was enjoying Hunter playing with the lower/midcarders.

The Diva Trade
Melina coming back seems quite soon, but her never-ending run of matches against Michelle was boring. Moving Rosa to ECW is understandable as she’s really not good enough for Raw. The Bellas moving again is as pointless as their 3 previous brand moves. Eve is bland and too big to have a convincing match against most of the divas, so I’m not a fan of her coming to Raw.

Beth moving to Smackdown would have made sense if it was to get her away from facing Mickie all the time, but since both of them were moved, they’re still going to fight each other lots and it takes away Raw’s two best workers (as Gail Kim will never get to show what she can do). Moving Mickie is beyond stupid in kayfabe terms, I know that Tiffany has set the bar pretty low for blonde GMs, but trading the divas champion was ridiculous, unless Nancy was going to keep putting Mickie in matches until she lost the belt, she willingly traded away Raw’s champion.

Final Thoughts
A mostly good show, with a strong central theme building towards the Bragging Rights tag, guest hosts who added to the show without getting in the way, comedy that was actually funny and some decent in-ring action. On the other hand, two of the matches were pretty-much the same, the divas title hotshotting was poorly done and the opening segment and JeriShow match went on a bit too long. If three divas matches weren’t enough, next week we should get diva heel turns, as Raw has far too many female faces.

Score: 6.5
